“Dirty. Purposeful.” Those are the words that reverberate through my head as I walk into my studio and look at my work. I am an expert in the act of destroying.

My work yields a fabricated world that has been the victim of calculated, constructed tension. In order to generate tension, I utilize broken perspective through the ideas of accumulation, atmospheric pressure, and balance.

I work with oil paint on my canvas, but explore with an array of mixed media in my drawings. I aim to challenge the viewer’s idea about how they must move into and through my work. By breaking the notion of a conventional space and embracing the construction of that space, I am able to create obstacles that interfere with that movement and explore the idea of the human condition and the feeling of wanting to grasp ahold of something.
